Indian film industry lost a remarkable comedian and actor, Govardhan Asrani.

Asrani, who gained global fame for his role as the jailer in the iconic film ‘Sholay,’ was originally from Jaipur, Rajasthan. Even at the age of 84, he remained active in film shootings with the same enthusiasm. On the occasion of Diwali, he wished his social media followers and fans a happy festival.

With over five decades in the Indian film industry, Asrani appeared in more than 350 films. His significant role as the jailer in ‘Sholay,’ alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Hema Malini, and Jaya Bachchan, brought him immense recognition and fame.
